What’s on your infinite playlist?

On Saturday we watched Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist on Sky. I must admit my attention wandered quite a bit but I found myself thinking about my own Infinite Playlist, a non desert-island discs soundtrack, if you like. (The songs you can listen to at anytime, not just when you’re shipwrecked).

So mine (in no particular order) would be:
* Suspicious Minds by Elvis Presley – Elvis always makes me happy
* Sloop John B by the Beach Boys – reminds me of a boat trip we took in Hawaii (sigh)
* Master Blaster (Jammin') by Stevie Wonder  – this was our anthem one summer when I was a kid
* Weather With You by Crowded House – for MotH (of course)
* Knights of Cydonia by Muse – No1 Son’s favourite track

These are all songs I can listen to over and over again – and they’re all pretty special to me, too.

I’m going to make this a meme and see if it’s possible to make the ultimate infinite playlist. So I’m tagging Sandy Calico, Babyrambles, Insomniac Mummy, Mums Rock, Laura, Vegemite Vix  and  Cafe Bébé.

    I love doing this, and always have a list on the go just in case I get invited onto Desert Island Discs! I’ll have to put together my current list in case I get tagged. Great idea.

    Suspicious minds makes me think of my Dad he was an Elvis Fan adn I love the fact that Mini will sign along to it and wewll Muse, your son has a good ear!

    Thanks for the tag – great idea for a meme. I’ll need plenty of thinking time. How on earth will I narrow it down to just 5?! Glad to see an Elvis track in there :-)

    Thanks for the tag! That’s a good playlist, the only one that jars slightly is the Crowded House one and that’s because it’s apparently Tony Blair’s favourite song! I remember him choosing it on the radio once. Like Sandy I’m going to struggle with only 5 but this will be fun to do!

    There a few songs you can hear over and over and never tire of them. Mine are : 1. I’m yours Jason Mraz 2.Naive The Kooks 3.Living on a prayer BonJovi 4.Flying Without wings Westlife 5.Masterplan Oasis 6.Desperado The Eagles 7.Dont wanna miss a thing Aerosmith 8.Angels Robbie williams 9Never forget Take that 10.Dreams Gabrielle There are so many I could go on and on,As you can see I have an ecclectic taste in music and my 5 year old daughter is the same as me because we play such a mix of music in the house she hopefully will appreciate the classics of music when she is older and like something because she likes it not because everyone else is listening to it.

    I’ve often thought about doing an ANTI-Desert Discs challenge…what 5 CDs or Songs could you stand to be destroyed and wiped from the face of the earth? But I will stick with yours…give me the weekend! ;) Karin
