One of the best things about Christmas for kids is the anticipation, and while no one wants to over excite the little darlings an advent calendar is a must (and for some grown-ups too, of course).

This year there are some lovely 'green' (reusable) advent calendars around, plus some gorgeous chocolately ones. Just try to resist the temptation to break into it when the kids are asleep (done that, been told off): 

From Lindt comes their calendar stuffed with yummy chocolate reindeer (£4.99, available from Ocado and Sainsbury's).

Hotel Chocolat have an especially delectable selection (perfect for mums, hint hint), including this beautiful Just Can't Wait! calendar (£10).

And I absolutely adore JoJo Maman Bébé's hand embroidered stocking set (£26), which you can fill with the chocolates, sweets or toys of your choice. It's slightly pricier but you can reuse it again and again, year after year, and create a new family tradition. And aren't the stockings cute?
